Croft, Paul J., Assistant Professor of Meteorology at Jackson State University, Jackson, Mississippi. B.S. in Meteorology from Rutgers University 1985, M.S. 1987, Interdiciplinary Ph.D, in Horticulture and Meteorology at Rutgers 1991. Environmental Scientist, Louis Beger and Associates, Inc., 1987-88. Rutgers University: Coadjutant and Assistant State Climatologist, 1988-1991; Instructor 1991-92; Coadjutant Research and Instruction, 1992-1993. Assistant Professor, University of South Alabama 1993-1995.

Member National Weather Association, NWA Education Committee, NWA Broadcast Committee, founder and past president Central Gulf Coast Chapter of the NWA. Member American Meteorological Society, AMS Board on Meteorological and Oceanographic Education in Universities, founder and past president Mobile Bay Chapter of AMS. Within the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Sciences at Jackson State University, Croft is responsible for teaching a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses and research. Dr. Croft has taught during the last seven years. He serves as an academic advisor and assists in supervision of the student meteorology club. He has served in mentoring programs. He is expected to lead the development of the atmospheric sciences program at JSU. Research has included agricultural meteorology, radar climatology, and operational fog prediction. Research interests are in operational and applied meteorology, meteorological education, and resource management and planning. Croft is an adjunct member of the MSU Graduate School.

Croft has received grant funding and been involved in cooperative projects. He has made a number of oral and poster session presentations at both professional and public meetings. He has organized and presented short courses on air pollution meteorology and was part of the steering committee for a chaos workshop. He has published a variety of peer reviewed articles. Croft has served on University curriculum, grievance, library, newsletter, and faculty search committees. He has participated in science fair judging, Internet outreach, and educational technology forms and meetings. He has served as a textbook reviewer and is preparing a book chapter for a publisher.
